The Wayne County Performing Arts Council (WaCPAC) will perform a Readers Theatre version of the Christmas classic, A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens on December 9 and 10 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. The performances will be at Faith Harvest Fellowship, located in the old Big Picture movie theater at 116 E. South Street in Wooster.
The Readers Theatre is reminiscent of radio shows of the past. Actors read from the script while portraying various characters and making some minor costume changes. And of course there are sound effects! This is the second year that WaCPAC has performed this version of A Christmas Carol.
Starring as Ebenezer Scrooge is Orrville’s Donald F. Curie, who has played the role numerous times with the Canton Players Guild. Also starring in the production are Emily Curie, Alan Dawson, David Drumm Sr.,Ethan Hamilton, Rhoda Holton, Nathan Hoyle, Ken McDonald, Jessica Matthews, John Myers, Christopher Roche, Bob Schang, Alyson Zuercher, and Lisa Zuercher. Providing all of the sound effects is Bill Carter. Leslie Baus is directing the production.
